Depending on who you talk to, and how much of the Kool-Aid they’ve been drinking, Canon’s new breed of hybrid HD-video/stills cameras are either a revolutionary product or just another interesting tool in the filmmaker’s kit.

But one thing you can’t really argue is Canon’s commitment to fostering creativity both through these tools, and through interesting programs like “Story Beyond The Still,” which asks filmmakers to tell individual chapters in a larger story. Judging from the quality of the first winning entry, “Job Security”, it should be one hell of a cinematic ride.
