It started with a simple idea.

365 days. 365 films.

For one year, 2010, I’d watch one movie every day and post a full review here.

Now, before you go and say, “hey, some other guy did this two years ago,” let me say a bit more.

First, I didn’t say anything about going to the theater to watch a movie every day. That would be prohibitively expensive, and the fact is that I think there are plenty of people who get paid to review Hollywood’s latest offerings. I see plenty of movies in the theater, and I’ll share my thoughts on them here, for sure. But with film and video moving increasingly to online delivery sources, my goal is to point followers to films they may not even know are out there. It could be a ten-minute short on Vimeo, or it could be a $300-million comic-book movie. I do not care how long the film is, how much it cost, or where it’s playing. If I see it, you’ll read about it.

Second, there will be pain. I will watch bad movies. I will watch horrendous movies, suffering through every stilted line of dialogue and every telegraphed plot point. I will suffer, and through my suffering, dear reader,  you will be enriched.

And finally, my mission is not just to tell you what I think about this movie or that movie. I’m creating this site to inspire anyone who love film to get out and make them. As a filmmaker, I believe there has never been a better time than now to embrace the filmmaking gear and technology. If you have an interesting story to tell, there’s not reason you can’t tell it yourself.

Watch. Create. Share.
